Using Synaptic on PCLinuxOS

 By clicking on the Synaptic Package Manager icon on your toolbar will bring up a window asking for the root password.

The Synaptic window shows us a list of packages including update packages that can be installed. 

Install a package by double clicking it or clicking the check box and selecting Mark for Installation. A package with a shaded check box has already been installed.

Now we need to confirm we want to apply these changes. 

After clicking apply we can see the packages files being downloaded
