Change the Theme

There are other ways to tweak your desktop besides just changing the background. You can change the size and styles of the desktop fonts, and also the color scheme of the program frames.

Actually, you can change both of these settings at once by choosing a different "theme". There are themes to account for various different tastes, and there are also themes that make it easier for the visually-impaired to use the computer.

Changing themes is easy. Begin by opening the Theme utility. Right click the Desktop and the Appearance Preferences opens. Select the Theme Tab.

Scroll up or down to see the various available themes. Click on one to see a preview. Once you've found one that you like, click on the Close button to set it as your new theme.
